I’ve Arrived

I have finally made it to NY after cancelled flights delayed departures and many hours of hanging out at the airport.

Here’s hoping next week’s return trip is less eventful.

I Knew There Was A Reason I Don’t Fly During The Winter

Today, it’s finally arrived. I left my house in Wyoming to make the drive to Denver to spend the night at a hotel so I could catch my early morning flight tomorrow. I checked my flight status before I left the house, and everything looked good. HA!

As, I’m a good 3 hours into my trip, my phone rings a. 800#, this can’t be good. And, well I’m right they’ve cancelled my flight. I’m then put on hold for nearly an hour. What do I do, do I keep driving, pull over, turn around and go back home? Finally, when someone gets to my call, they tell me we can get you to NY on Sunday. Well great, but I need to be there before Sunday. I ask them to try any airline and give them 8 airports to try. The best they can do is get me to Buffalo, NY late Saturday night. Uhmmmm, yeah that’s not going to work, because I’m then 7 hours from where I need to be. I tell them cancel me and refund my money.

I figure I’m only a little over an hour from Denver I might as well keep going, and I’ll go to the airline counters myself if I have to. Or, I just won’t go to NY period, if I can’t get there in time for the wedding, there really is no sense in spending all of the money to go.

I call the husband and tell him what’s going on, so he starts looking to see what he can find, and my brother calls me with flight info for JetBlue, and it won’t cost a complete arm and leg to get the ticket. I hand over the credit card info and we’ve booked me a new flight.

The only problem is I have to check out of the hotel by 2 and I don’t fly out until 12:55 am. Oh well, guess I’ll be doing some laps at the airport and hanging in the hotel lobby.

Ah Mother Nature once again you’ve gotten me.

Here’s hoping for no further cancelled flights and only arriving 17 hours later than expected.

Happy travels to anyone else traveling this weekend, especially along the East Coast.

Tomorrow I head out for my trip back home to NY, it’s been 6 long months since I’ve been home, and I can’t wait to get there. I packed my suitcase tonight and of course it’s overweight. So, tomorrow I’ll be going through the suitcase again in hopes that I can slim down the weight some more. I’m not sure there is much more I can take out. Well, at this moment I think that I need everything I have packed, of course I probably won’t use half of it.

This is so me, and you’d think I’d finally learn, but no.

Friday can’t come soon enough.

Today has been a day and a half, and thankfully it’s nearly over.

I definitely ate way too much in the line of chips and queso at dinner tonight, but it tasted so good, and I am beyond aggravated with life right now.

Even though I noshed on the chips and queso, I did workout hard today, between snow removal, aerobics, Zumba, yoga, and cleaning the house to get it ready to show I’ve burned some serious calories today, and well tomorrow will be more of the same.

It’s currently snowing outside again, which means snowblowing again in the morning before they show the house, I’ll get my run in before work, and will be wrangling a 18 month old while getting seen by the chiropractor that should be fun, then rush home to vacuum and mop all of the areas that dogs have been, make sure the house is tip-top for the showing. Yeah I think I’ll burn some calories tomorrow too.

I’m hoping tomorrow is a little less stressful and aggravating because right now I’m quite aggravated.

Because, I Didn’t Have Enough To Do

I’m leaving early Thursday afternoon to head home to NY for 10 days, and well I’m super excited about it. Of course with leaving I’ve got a ton of things to take care of here at the house. You know the norm, taking care of any bills running those last-minute errands and packing.

Packing is the challenging thing right now. I’m packing for a wedding, skiing, a weekend in the city, and of course several days in upstate NY. Needless to say there is a lot of stuff to remember and it is currently in different piles all over my house.

Then, today I get thrown a curveball. The realtor calls and wants to show the house on Wednesday. Ughhhh! I ask if Thursday is a possibility it turns out it is not, and so now everything is getting shifted ahead a day and well tomorrow and Wednesday morning are going to be a lot of running around and busy busy busy days. But, hey hopefully they love the house, put an offer in, and I can move back to the beach. We shall see.

Hope your Monday has been good to you.

Week 17 Recap

Well this past week has seen me working out like a maniac. Which is good since at the end of this week I head home to NY for 10 days and I won’t be getting anywhere near as much exercise in as I am now. So, I’m planning to continue with the trend this week, and keep working out like a maniac. It feels good.

This week has been my best week yet when it comes to being active, and well I share the stats so you can see for yourself.

  • 115,880 steps – yeah that’s right I broke 100,000 steps this past week.
  • 16,830 daily step average
  • 30,612 steps in 1 day – yeah that was a lot, but I owe it to Walkadoo and the unlimited card it definitely pushed me.
  • 22,387 calories burned
  • 3,227 daily calories burned average
  • 4,139 calories burned in a single day
  • 52.03 miles
  • 7.58 daily mile average
  • 13.84 miles in 1 day
  • 13 hours and 10 minutes of being very active
  • 115 minutes daily very active minutes average
  • 211 minutes very active in 1 day
  • 10,620 calorie deficit

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty impressed with those stats, and I’m quite happy with myself. Now here’s to tackling week 18.

More YouTube Awesomeness

Last night I was cruising around YouTube looking for some new exercise videos. I’m always looking for cardio videos to do. I like to change-up my cardio, because I have a tendency to become bored rather quickly. So, with this I find myself turning to YouTube a lot to help combat this fact.

In the last week I’ve done a Taebo workout, hello welcome back to the ’90’s. I had forgotten how much of a workout that is. I had done Taebo way back when and of course over the years have moved onto other things. Well the other day I did a 40 minute Taebo workout and thought I’d nearly die. I’ll be doing it again. In addition to Taebo I’ve done walking videos, aerobics boot camp, hip hop dance, and even a cardio barre workout.

Last night I found a channel that I instantly fell in love with. It’s Lauren Fritz, and well she’s a Zumba instructor, that does dances to tons of current songs playing on the radio. Wow! I was definitely impressed. Of course the videos are of the finished product so it’s going to take me a while to learn the moves to each dance, but hey I’ve got time and why not work on my moves for the club. Oh wait I live in Wyoming we are pretty much lacking on the clubs. Anyway, this morning in addition to my run training and yoga I added in a few of her videos and ended up doing 20 minutes worth. Can we say work up a sweat, uhmmmm yeah we can.

Anyway, it’s something else for you to check out if you are looking for a little change-up in your cardio workouts. Enjoy!

Feeling It Today

So yesterday I took over 30,000 steps, that’s 15 miles. And, well today I’m feeling it. My calves, hips, and well pretty much all of my legs are feeling it today. I’m definitely a bit sore. Add in the fact that I’m exhausted today, and well my step count is nowhere near 30,000 today, but that’s ok. I’m still 3,000 steps over my daily goal.

Workouts today were adjusted. I just couldn’t bring myself to do squats, lunges, and other calisthenics, mixed in with cardio to make a half hour of circuit training. I did however do an hour and 15 minutes of aerobics. I thought that by moving a lot I’d loosen up the tight and sore muscles, and it did help.  I also did my daily dose of yoga.  So even though I didn’t do the planned workout, I still worked out hard.

I am of course quite exhausted and will be calling it an early tonight.  I’m hoping tomorrow the legs are feeling better so I can attack the steps. I’m not planning on doing 30,000 again but 20,000 isn’t so far-fetched.

Keep being active.
