Holy Crap More Than Half Way

As I’ve mentioned before I’m doing another round of Whole 30 and WOW! This one is flying by.

Yesterday, was day 15 which makes today day 16. I’m on the downward slope already. It’s crazy. It seems this round is flying by. I haven’t had any insane cravings which is awesome. I’m not starving that’s for sure, I’m finding that finishing my meals is sometimes difficult. It’s amazing how eating real whole unprocessed food can make you feel.

I’m not missing the junk that I was eating. Okay, it has been pretty ridiculously hot here and well some ice cream would be nice, however I’m beginning to wonder if I may have a bit of lactose intolerance. I will definitely be testing dairy with my reintroduction phase. But, I do like coconut milk ice cream so if dairy is a huge issue there is a substitute, and well ice cream shouldn’t be something I consume that often anyway.

I am well aware of what my trigger/food with no breaks are and will be trying to stay away from them as much as possible. I know that once I have a taste I can’t stop and that is not a good thing. My triggers are junk food especially sugar. On occasion will be okay but it’s something I won’t be having every day because I know the downward spiral it leads to.

I think a big part of the reason why this whole 30 is going as smoothly as it is, is because I joined a Facebook group where we all started on the same day and are sharing pictures of our foods and supporting each other through it. Support is definitely important in any journey that you are on, and it has helped tremendously.

Now that the house is finally done I need to start exercising more.

I was finally able to order Cize and it should be here by next week. I of course had to go through Team BeachBody to get it as its not released on BeachBody for apparently a few more weeks. Which I of course think is ridiculous. But, whatever I’ll be ignoring the “coach” they’ve given me. Uhmmmm no thanks I don’t want your emails, challenges, and whatever you’re trying to sell. But, hey I’m going to be able to Cize!!!! Can’t wait.

Some Grrr Moments & Aaahhhhh Moments

Today has been a day of frustration and bliss. Yeah it’s one of those days.

The Grrrrr moments involved mowing the lawn. I hate doing it and I’m allergic so I break out in hives, itch, get stuffy, and wheezy. So it’s just not fun. But, I got it done. I tamed the jungle that was the yard. Of course it’s hotter than Hades here so I was sweating and feeling exceptionally gross by the end.

The other Grrrrr moment that really has me on edge is Cize. It’s Shaun T’s new program that is supposed to be released today and well it’s taking forever. Right now you can only buy it with Shakeology, well I don’t drink that nonsense and therefore don’t want to buy it. I just want the program. I called BeachBody they told me it’d be released today just the discs but still hasn’t happened yet.

I’m sorry but I think if you are going to release something you do it not this ahhhh we will get to it when we get to it. I’m going to try a few more times tonight but if it’s not up I guess I’ll wait a while for it because this is just kind of crappy customer service.

And, now for the Aaahhhh moment. I found this recipe the other day and decided to try it tonight and OMG I’m so glad I did.

This was an amazing dish. Zoodles with avocado pesto sauce. Holy Cannoli!!! Yeah it was amazing. I wasn’t sure about it when I started making it I mean what’s pesto without Parmesan cheese, well this one uses nutritional yeast so I can eat it while doing Whole 30 and guess what so delicious.

I’m seriously fighting the urge to go lick the bowl it’s that good.

I topped my zoodles with some grilled chicken to complete my meal and I loved every bite of it. I’m thinking that I’ll be eating some leftovers tomorrow for lunch and will be eating it cold because I think it will be pretty tasty as a cold “pasta” salad type dish.

So, click right here to find the recipe and give it a try.

This & That

I headed on over to the bike shop to pick up the husband’s bike only to find out that they lost the work ticket on it and have yet to work on it. Oops. It’s okay as he wont be around to ride it until the end of August anyway.

However, I did score myself a helmet that was on sale and then with my membership got myself some more money off. So my helmet ended up costing $25. SCORE!!!!

After bike shop antics it was back home to work on draining the boat. Our boat has a cover on it, but with all of the rain we have been getting it caused a giant pool to form. There was well over 100 gallons of water sitting on top of the cover. My friend and I got out the shop vac and did a lot of vacuuming up water and dumping the vacuum tank.

Of course the cover is ripped where the pole went through the cover and this is not the first time we’ve had to do this, so I went out and bought a big tarp. We are going to rig something up for this boat because we can not keep doing this, and besides the fact that the cover is ripped and not in the best of shape.

Tomorrow morning I’ll be getting some exercise in as I have to go over to the house we were renting and mow the lawn. Prepping myself for allergic reaction now.

And, I did this today as well:

Happy Sunday!!!

You Know You’re Excited When…

  • You wake up in the middle of the night and promptly jump on the internet to purchase said item
  • Until you realize that it is not Monday yet
  • You were willing and ready to skip the weekend and jump to Monday so that you could purchase said item
  • You have literally had a dream about it
  • You are hoping its offered on Amazon so that you can get 2 day Prime shipping, and are even contemplating paying for overnight shipping
  • You’re posting your blog at 7:30 am because you’re up and wired thinking about it and need to tell someone about it

What is it that I’m so excited about you ask. I will tell you. Now, I’m not a BeachBody coach nor am I encouraging you to join them or anything like that. I’m not a Shakeology person, never tried the stuff and don’t care too I don’t check out their challenges or anything like that.

But, I am a Shaun T fan. Hip Hop Abs, yup I love it. Insanity, holy mother of pearl does that nonsense work. T25 love love love it. I’ve done all 3 of these workout programs designed by Shaun T and love them. Okay, I love it when I finished the days workout during the workout I’m cursing Shaun T up a storm, asking why he hates me, but I love it. I really enjoy his “training” style and the workout I get from his programs. Everyone of his programs that I’ve done I’ve seen results. They work! Insanity and T25 even with not eating the best I saw inches come off and I definitely got stronger, which was what I was looking for.

Well now Mr Shaun T has a new program coming out called Cize, and it’s all about dance. I’m totally stoked for this. I love going to Zumba class and well this is Shaun T so I can just imagine how serious this is going to get. I’ve seen some previews of the program and it looks like lots of fun. It’s called Cize the end of exercise since they say you won’t even realize you’re exercising. I’m down for that.

So, as you can imagine Monday I’ll be ordering my copy of Cize and trying it out. I’m basically like a kid at Christmas waiting for the opportunity to get my hands on it. Of course even after I order it I’ll still be waiting for it to arrive on my doorstep. And, man if it’s not available on Amazon I’ll be waiting even longer for it as the shipping from BeachBody is nowhere near as quick as Amazon Prime. Yeah, I’m getting excited and worked up about it all at once.

How about you are there any at home workouts that you absolutely love and have to have?

Yumminess

I’ve seriously been enjoying the food I’ve been eating. It’s summer here and quite warm so I’ve been grilling everything. Chicken sausage, burgers, chicken, and vegetables. I’ve been experimenting with all different types of homemade marinades, mixing up all kinds of different spices in my burgers, and playing with seasonings on my veggies.

Along with this I’ve been throwing leftovers from dinner into my breakfast to change things up. I haven’t gotten bored with the food I’ve been eating and look forward to my meals. Also it hasn’t been a chore to make these meals since I’m grilling pretty much everything. Plus it makes clean up in the kitchen real easy.

I’m not sure if I’ve lost any weight so far in this round of Whole 30, but I definitely can say I feel a whole lot better eating real non-processed food. I need to remember this feeling and keep at it even after the 30 days are up. Last time I did the Whole 30 I didn’t really do reintegration at all, I just pretty much ate everything, so this time I plan on doing it right to see how the things I haven’t been eating affect me. It’ll be interesting to see.

Here’s to the weekend hope you enjoy it.

Kickin Butt

Yesterday was Day 10 of this Whole 30 and totally missed it. So that makes today Day 11, which means I’m more than a third of the way through this. Yeah, I’ve got this.

I’ve been having fun cooking different things and mixing up my breakfasts. I’m learning that it doesn’t have to be “breakfast” foods. I’ve been eating a lot of leftovers from dinner, and loving it.

As well as staying on track with the whole 30, I’ve been making some serious progress on my house. I haven’t been doing workouts except for the one on Monday which I’m a bit bummed about, but I also want my house to be done. And, well it’s not like I’m sitting on my butt while I’m working on the house so I’m definitely getting activity in.

I finished our bedroom and the guest bedroom today. Tomorrow is the time to tackle the office. This will be a chore and a half since that room has way too much stuff in it. I’m hoping to have it done tomorrow but that is probably wishful thinking, but I can be hopeful.

Here’s some photos of the bedrooms that are now done!!!!

I love when I can see the progress that has been made.

Another Busy Day

The last couple of days around here have been busy. Not that that is a bad thing at all, but I’d like a little less excitement.

I for whatever reason I woke up at 2am and then couldn’t fall back to sleep until well after 5. Which would normally be fine, however I had to work this morning.

So, to say I’m a bit tired is an understatement.

I headed off to work and afterwards stopped at Target to pick up a few items for the house, promptly came home and worked on setting up storage for the bathroom. Happy to say that both bathrooms are done, well except for that whole decoration/decor thing. Although, the master bath really has no room for decor since it’s so small.

I’m excited to have the bathrooms done and even put a bit of a dent in my bedroom. There is some stuff I have to put away in temporary storage for the husband to go through and put the bed together, meaning pillows and duvet. Plus I need to decide which photos I’ll be hanging in the bedroom, which I plan on getting up on the wall tomorrow as well. The bedroom won’t be to difficult to finish since most of its alread done, and I’m hoping to get the guest bedroom finished tomorrow as well. Of course like the shower curtain I am on the hunt for the perfect bed covering for that room. Haven’t found it yet. I’ve found stuff that I like but not in the price I like. So the search continues.

Now to finish off the day I’m headed to a Junior  League event, which should be fun. The plan is to drink club soda with lime and snack in carrot and celery sticks and then when I get home I’ll have dinner. That’s the plan and I’m sticking to it.

Here’s a look at the bathrooms and my meticulously organized linen closet.

As you can see the master bath, the blue one is exceptionally small. It gets the job done but it’s cramped for space.

Happy Hump Day!

Crazy Busy Day

Today has been crazy. I’ve been going since 7:30 this morning. I got up made myself breakfast, packed myself a lunch, and headed out to do a full days worth of stuff.

The morning started off with a haircut, followed by some pampering me time. My eyebrows were in serious need of attention, so those were taken care of, followed up by a mani/pedi. Because, well my nails needed some attention after all the moving and cleaning I’ve been doing.

After my pampering session it was off to pick up some much needed organizational baskets for the bathroom. So that had me running around to different stores to get what I wanted and needed.

Then it was off to work for 4 hours. Work was pretty uneventful, but by 3 when I arrived I was starving and promptly ate my lunch.

I didn’t get home till nearly half past 7 and of course my dogs were acting like I had left them for months. I am happy to say that they didn’t escape the yard nor destroy anything so hey that’s a win.

And, well now I’m enjoying some dinner and watching some AGT.

Glad that even with the craziness of the day I was able to plan and stay on plan. Whoop making progress.

Pound It Out

Today I tried out the newest version of Pound. Pound is a workout using weighted drumsticks and it’s a lot of fun.

I have the original program which I’ve done from time to time and really enjoy. I ordered the newest version about a month ago and today was really the first time I’ve gotten a chance to try it out. As I’ve been in the middle of the most unorganized move EVER, and well I finally have space in my living room to work out. So today I did Bassline. It targets the legs, butt, and thighs. Let’s just say I’m definitely going to be feeling it in the morning.

The workouts are great they are 30 minutes which is perfect fast and gets the job done. I got my cardio in with the workout worked the lower body and even though it wasn’t targeting my arms they got a workout too. Holding, swinging, and pounding those weighted drumsticks does start to make the arms burn. After the workout I was sweating the heart was beating and I was ready for it to be over once it was.

Tomorrow’s plan has been thrown in the air as I have appointments scheduled for the morning and early afternoon, so the plan was to come home and workout after, but I’ve been called into work until early evening so we will see how things work out. I’m thinking I can get in some activity at work.

Oh and on top of doing the workout today I made tons of progress on my bathrooms. Of course I won’t be finishing them tomorrow like I had planned it’s looking like it’ll be complete come Wednesday. Well mostly complete there will still be the need for the home decor part which I’ll be looking at and thinking about. No rush decisions need to be made on that front.

So whoooo I kicked Monday’s a$$!
