Let’s Talk Jam

Every once in a while I tell you about products I love that are usually fitness or health related. Well today I’m going to talk about a product I love that has nothing to do with either of those things or about losing weight. And, well it’s my blog so I can. 

I recently fell in love with Jamberry. If you know what they are you probably love them if you have no idea what I’m talking about, I’ll tell you. They are heat activated nail wraps that can last up to 2 weeks on your nails and well they rock. No dry time and no chipping. What!!!! I know right no need to wait for my nails to dry and no annoying chipping after 2 days. And, of course chipping off your nail polish is bad for your nails, but you’ve guessed it I’m a picker. So Jamberry is amazing for me. 

I would paint my nails every couple of days because once there was a chip I’d pick at my nails so I’d have to reprint them. Which is fine, but it’s time consuming and annoying to have to do it so soon after doing them. Now my complaint is why Jamberry do you last so long, I want to change my nails but you still look awesome. 

I love all of the different looks you can create with the wraps. You can do all sorts of wild and crazy looks, simple and classic, and you can pretty much find anything under the sun to match your personality. And, well if they don’t have it then you can create your own wraps using their nail art studio. 

Don’t worry those of you who love painting your nails they offer nail lacquer which I have fallen in love with as well. In my opinion it’s a million times better than regular polish. You really only need one coat but can do two, it goes on super smooth and even, and the dry time is quick. 

If you love your gel/shellac polishes well they’ve just released a new line of gel polishes as well. The best part it can be used with their lacquers and wraps as well making them last even longer. What!!!! I haven’t tried the gel yet but everyone I know who has is raving about it. I can’t wait to try it. It’s on my wish list for my next order. 

So yeah they have tons of products that are awesome and I love them. 

They also have a monthly subscription box that costs $25 and you get at least $30 worth of product. September was amazing as I received $40 worth of products. Yeah oh and the longer you subscribe to the box the lower your cost. I have a year subscription so my cost is lower than $25 a month. 

And, hey even if you get your nails done and have the acrylic or gel nails, Jamberry can be applied over them. How cool is that?

You’ll notice that the more I’ve done the better at them I have gotten. Oh and I do lots of layering. Clear wraps over lacquer is one of my favorite things to do, as you can see by my pictures.    
  This is my current Jamicure which was this month’s style box goods. 2 unique wraps that you can only get through style box and a lacquer. This one is called VIP. I love how the 2 different wraps make the color of the lacquer underneath appear a different color. Oh and did I mention the style box comes in 3 different varieties classic, which is what I have, feminine, and trendy. You take a little quiz and they determine your style but don’t worry if you don’t agree with them as you can change it to what you like, and when the boxes come out they are 3 unique looks. I’m in love with it.

Sick of Salad

Being on the road with dietary restrictions sucks!!!

I am getting really tired of eating a salad with oil & vinegar for every meal. 

Today’s lunch restaurant I couldn’t even get protein to eat. So it was salad with oil & vinegar. 

Epic bars and RX bars to the rescue because I was starving to say the least. 

I can’t wait to be home again and cooking my own meals. 


Ughhhh traveling again. I hate it! Okay I don’t hate traveling when I’m going somewhere fun, but when I’m not headed off for fun traveling sucks. 

Especially when it’s a 12 hour car drive. An entire day wasted in the car. 

Add into the day spent in the car finding acceptable food options for me to eat on the road is hard or next to impossible. Convince store foods aren’t going to work for a person who can’t eat gluten, dairy, added sugar, or soy. 

This morning breakfast at the hotel consisted of some fruit, a few potatoes, and a 1/4 cup of nuts and seeds I had brought with me. 

I can see the next 4 days living off of RX Bars. At least they are clean, healthy, and full of protein. 

Of course my husband is consuming crap left and right. It’s 1 and he’s already had 5 sodas, 2 candy bars, caramel popcorn, and breakfast at the hotel which consisted of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, and yogurt. And, he wonders why he gains weight. Uhmmmm you’ve already consumed more calories than do in 3 days, and oh yeah you aren’t burning any of them off sitting in the car for the next 6 hours. 

I will be eating a whole lot of grilled chicken salads over the next 4 days. I’ll be sick of it by the time we get home. 

Why can’t restaurants cook clean and offer healthy items instead of all this food filled with crap. I would just like to eat some real meals from time to time when I travel. 

Gettin’ Ready To Kick It

Im pretty excited tonight is kickball and a double header at that. It’ll be a lot of fun to play since we didn’t have games last week as it was Labor Day. 

The best part is we are in third place and we are playing the number 1&2 teams. Here’s hoping for a win against at least one of the teams so we can move up I the standings.

Somewhat True

I mean who doesn’t feel this way from time to time. 

However, over the last 8+ weeks the scale has been pretty nice to me. Eating clean, eating healthy portion sizes, and getting some activity in is paying off. 

I have become a firm believer that you can not out exercise a bad diet. No matter how much you work out if you’re eating crap your body is not going to go through the changes you want.

Buy Local

I hit up the Farmer’s Market that sets up shop in a parking lot every Saturday morning from 9-12. The market is 2 blocks from my front door. I grab some canvas bags and walk on down. 

I bought produce today tomatoes, onions, squash, cucumbers, pears, and plums. I’m set on produce on for the week and our meat selection is already at the house. So the only thing I need to pick up from a conventional store is eggs. SCORE!!!

I love my neighborhood. 

Wasted Food

Yesterday morning I got up a bit earlier than I needed to, to throw together a roast for the husband for dinner. As, I was going to be at a meeting and not home till after 8 he was on his own for dinner. 

I cut up potatoes, threw in carrots, the roast and seasoned it all up. I threw it in the CrockPot and set it on low. It would cook all day and be ready to go when he got home from the squadron and was ready to eat. 

I came home from my meeting and he was just sitting down to eat. I made myself a quick dinner and then proceeded to go to bed as I was spent. 

I told him to clean up his stuff from dinner and push start on the dishwasher. And, not to forget to put the roast in the fridge before coming to bed. 

I got up this morning and well the dishwasher was done however sitting in the crockpot on the counter was the roast. Grrrrrr!!!! Are you kidding me? 

He was going to have leftovers for dinner as he won’t really care for what I’m making for dinner for me, but guess what. He’s going to learn to like eggplant tonight or starve one or the other.
