I’m not a huge breakfast eater. It’s actually really hard for me to eat breakfast I actually have to actually think about eating it and then make myself do it. Crazy I know but it’s true. I know I really should eat something, but I’m not a morning person and adding that one extra bit to do in the morning makes me groan.
However, I’ve been doing fairly well with eating breakfast. I’ve missed a few days here and there but for the most part I’ve been eating it.
My 2 go to breakfasts are either a 310 shake or an Rx Bar. Both are super easy and portable. As in they can fly with me in the car. So, there is no need to get up any earlier to eat, as it goes with me.
So, I’m not a huge fan of protein shakes. They always taste gross to me and just have a weird after taste and I can never add enough stuff to them to cover up the taste without adding a billion extra calories to the already large amount of calories in the powder. However, I’ve found one I actually like. And, even more surprising is I’ll even drink the chocolate flavored one. I love chocolate but HATE anything chocolate flavored. Chocolate cake, pudding, ice cream, and protein powders are all things I have no problem saying no to. However, 310’s chocolate isn’t too bad. Plus with only 90 calories I can add a whole lot of stuff and not have a 900 calorie meal. I mix the shakes with ice, almond milk, fruit, and sometimes nut butters and I have no problem drinking them and enjoying it. Now, I will admit I like the vanilla flavor better but it’s good to change it up every once in a while. I blend up the shake pour it into a cup or travel cup depending and I’m on my way. And, it definitely keeps me full until I’m ready for lunch, which is awesome. I don’t need a mid morning snack.
The other breakfast of choice is Rx bars. I love them and they have expanded their line to include some new flavors that are absolutely delicious. The thing I love about Rx bars are the taste and the fact that the ingredients are all real food. There is nothing in them that isn’t whole real food. I love that. I buy a case off of Amazon and keep a stock of them. I always have one in my purse and one in my car for those times when I’m starving and there is no meal anytime soon in site. They are a great emergency food to have on hand. Also, I love these for traveling I take them with me whenever I travel. No need to worry about finding something gluten free and healthy that I can snack on when I bring these along. They pack around 12 grams of protein which always is a good thing for me and will work as a meal or as a snack to hold me off until I can get a meal in me.
Thank you Rx bars and 310 for getting me into somewhat of a breakfast habit.
I’ve been crazy busy with life lately, but now things are returning back to normal.
I got the all clear on the broken ankle on Friday which means I can and will start going back to some fitness classes. I will have to take it slow and not push it too hard but I need to get my butt back to moving.
I need to start eating clean and healthy again. I’ve started eating processed crap again and well it’s exactly that crap.
Time to make some food from real ingredients and feel good again.
Hope all has been well with you.
I mean who doesn’t feel this way from time to time.
However, over the last 8+ weeks the scale has been pretty nice to me. Eating clean, eating healthy portion sizes, and getting some activity in is paying off.
I have become a firm believer that you can not out exercise a bad diet. No matter how much you work out if you’re eating crap your body is not going to go through the changes you want.
Happy Sunday all
It’s been a week since I finished my Whole 30 and I weighed myself today. After 30 days of Whole 30 I was a little over 2 pounds away from reaching my first weight loss goal. Today, I got on the scale and I lost another 3.5 pounds this week. Which, means I’ve reached my first goal WHOOOOOO!!!! I’m actually under my first goal already working towards my second goal. And, most importantly the way I am eating is definitely a big part to my weight loss.
I haven’t been exercising nearly as much as I should I’ve just been eating my clean and healthy. I’ll have days where I do exercise or some sort of activity, but nowhere near the type of exercise I was doing before I hurt the knee.
I am definitely sticking with this way of eating. It’s amazing how I feel. And, the results I’m seeing are a HUGE plus as well. There really is no need to eat processed food, it’s really not good for us. And, eating whole real unprocessed food isn’t hard at all. Yes, at times you may have to get creative when you’re eating out or be a bit high maintenance to get what you want but it’s totally worth it.
Im enjoying this rainy morning excited about my progress and drinking a cup of Crio Brü.
Today I’ll also be reintroducing dairy we shall see how that goes.
Enjoy your Tuesday.
Today, is the 14th day of doing Whole 30, which means I’ve made it 2 whole weeks eating nothing but clean whole foods. Yay me!!! I’m pretty excited about this actually, but we’ll get into that more tomorrow.
I was able to navigate being at a theme park for a day and still stay true to the Whole 30, I was able to resist temptation, and well there was a lot of it, and I was able to adjust my plan to accommodate changes in my daily schedule.
This week has been another success for me. I tried new recipes that I loved, was able to curb the sweet/dessert craving that I had suffered one day, and even went out to eat again without having to go off the Whole 30. See success!
Breakfast, was the last of the breakfast casserole. Lunch was turkey roll ups with lettuce and avocado with melon. Dinner is a turkey burger with lettuce, a side of broccoli and an apple.
Now, for the apple I decided to make it a little more dessert like. I found this recipe on Pinterest, and guess what it’s simple easy and quick and best part DELICIOUS! You can check out the recipe here. Do it you know you want to. It definitely made it feel like I was eating a dessert. It was nice hot and gooey and perfect to end my meal on this chilly night.
Next weeks meals are looking pretty good. I just made tomorrow nights meal it just went in the crock pot. Along with making tomorrow night’s dinner I made a loaf of banana bread and delivered it to my friend. I also made a double batch of chocolate chip cookies which will be mailed out tomorrow. It is a little difficult to have them in the house but they are filled with gluten so I can’t eat them anyway regardless of Whole 30 or not.
I’m looking forward to Day 15.
And, here’s a look at the food for the day.
