Last night I rolled both ankles. The left it happens all the time so it’s no big deal. There is a residual bit of pain if I move it to fast or stand on for too long, but the norm for when this happens which is quite often.
The right ankle on the other hand. Oh boy I’ve seriously messed that one up. I did her some pops and cracks when the ankles went but again that’s common with the left so I’m not sure which one was making the noise last night.
I will say that it is a severe sprain if not broken as it hurts throughout the entire ankle joint. The other issue I’m having is I have pain in my ankle when I bend and straighten my knee and hip as well. So, hmmmm yeah that’s not so great. And, apparently everyone is breaking bones right now because my ortho can’t get me in until Friday morning.
I have a feeling that tomorrow afternoon I’ll be heading over to their walk-in clinic to get it looked at before seeing my ankle doc. Yeah that’s right I have a doctor for my ankle and another for my knee that’s when you know you’re injured a lot.
At the clinic they will get the x-rays done and hopefully from that on Friday the doctor can come up with a plan.
I’m pretty sure I’m done with kickball and starting back up at yoga and zumba will have to wait.
Grrrrrrr loose joints and ligaments.
Today was round 3 of physical therapy this week, and I’m really beginning to think that physical therapist are really just sadist with nice degrees.
I did all of my normal exercises which we upped again. And, I’m happy with that because it means I am getting stronger and am improving in my strength at least. Even if my patella is still no where near close to tracking the way it should. However, my physical therapist, Morgan, decided to add some new stuff today. Yeah, I may have told her I’m not really liking her much today, and well that may have been repeated more than once.
Today she added single leg bridges. Say what!!!! I can’t do them when my knee is at 100%, well 100% for me anyway. Ughhhh!!!! Alrighty then sure we will do them. Single leg bridges were done, however, they were not pretty. They were pretty ugly looking. And, as I finished them she says, we’ll do 2 sets of 10 next time. Oh YAY!!!!
If that wasn’t enough we changed up my stim treatment. We used to do quad set for 10 seconds then off for 10 seconds for a total of 12 minutes. Today we did leg lift hold for 10 seconds and then off for 10 seconds. Holy Crap! 1 seconds is a long time. I was supposed to do it for 6 minutes but only did 4 and then finished up with quad set for the last 2 minutes, as straight leg raises irritate and start my hip snapping. So after a while it gets to be too much. Once it snaps it’s kind of a PITA to get it back in. Next week I’m sure I’ll be able to go a little bit longer.
Lastly we did some more deep massage on the IT Band that is not letting up. Man, the massage is not relaxing that’s for sure. Man the IT Band is seriously tense. Here’s hoping after a few more sessions it loosens up.
Happy weekend! I’m torture session free until Tuesday.
I have a snapping hip, actually I have 2 snapping hips. And, well right now my right hip is out, and not really wanting to go back in. Which, on its own sucks because it’s uncomfortable. However, when you add that to the already screwed up knee, ankle, and lower leg all on the same side, and well let’s just say I’m ready to cut off my leg.
I’ve taken ibuprofen and am staying off of it as much as possible. I also went to the chiropractor this morning to help get it back in place. Unfortunately, I think that may have made it worse. At best it’s the same as it was before. It’s definitely not back in yet. I’ll be going back to have another adjustment and hopefully after a few adjustments it will go back into place and stay there. At least for a little while.
Next week I’ll be starting physical therapy as well which is good because I need to do something and hopefully this will get me back to being able to start classes again sooner rather than later.
Happy Hump Day.
I had my MRI done on my knee today. The problem with MRIs is that first they put you in a tube which feels like a coffin to me. Luckily, my upper body didn’t have to go in the tube since it was just my knee they were looking at. Second they position your body so that they can get the picture, however, usually it is not the most comfortable or supportive. And, well let’s just say after about 10 minutes of having my leg a certain way I was in quite a bit of pain. By the time the 25 minute scan was over I was in a lot of pain.
And, well an hour and a half later I’m still in pain.
But, the good news is that by Friday I will hopefully have news as to what we are going to do with this knee of mine. Fingers crossed I’m told I can go back to activity sooner rather than later.
And, Zumba resulted to a trip to the ER. I’m thinking my gym days are going to be put on hold. More on that tomorrow.
I’ve been taking the dogs to the dog park nearly every day. I get in a run and so do they. We usually finish up the trip with some swimming in the river for them.
Today, we were out for our run and came across another walker and her dog. She was on her cell phone the entire time while her dog was running and playing with mine.
Well all of a sudden my dogs start running and this woman’s dog decides he’s going to chase after them. Normally not a big deal. However, the dog decided that going through me instead of around me was a better way to go. Well I’m sure it looked like a scene out of a cartoon. The dog plowed into me I flew up in the air and landed on top of the dog. The dog is freaking out, my dogs are freaking out, and the woman continues on her cell phone. Uhmmm, a little help please. I’d like to get off your dog before he bites me or something.
Luckily I wasn’t hurt, I ended up with a scraped elbow.
Not too bad could have been much worse. Although, I will say it burns like a mother.
However, the thing that upset me the most was the damage my poor sneakers endured. My SKORA running sneakers ended up shredded a bit.
And, as you can see they aren’t very used and now they’ve been torn through a layer 😦
Let’s just say I’m way more upset about my sneakers then my elbow.
Anyway, when I got home I called SKORA’s customer service, and explained what happened. The gi I talked to was very understanding and said that this was not a warranty issue but he would issue me a 20% off coupon for a future purchase. Well awesome because I can still wear the ones I have, and I already had been looking at a different SKORA shoe to buy. I love them. So, thank you SKORA for the discount and I’ll be buying my new sneakers sooner than later.
Oh best part after purchasing my new sneakers they sent me another coupon for 10% off my next order. So yeah SKORA rocks. Oh and the email they sent me with my 20% off coupon was personal and even talked about my spill in the dog park.
I love when a company is awesome to their customers. I’ll definitely be sticking with SKORA.
