I tried out my new SKORA’s LOVE THEM! I think I like them better than the Phase’s I originally purchased.
Moving on enough about the awesomeness that is SKORA. I did my Focus T25 workout and then decided to break in the new shoes. I loaded the dogs into the car and headed off to the dog park. They run I run we are all happy.
Or, so we’d think. Uhmmm, yeah that was until Heidi was lagging behind and I called her. She came running right away with something in her mouth. Now, it wasn’t a snake, if it had been I wouldn’t be writing this post because I’d be dead. Cardiac arrest in full force.
However, it was nearly as bad. She came running with a dead squirrel in her mouth. Ughhhh! Gross! I yelled DROP IT NOW! Which she promptly did and took off in front of me afraid I was going to kill her. Yuck, really dog. Of course she dropped it right on the edge of the path, and well this girl was definitely not touching that thing even with a stick. So yeah we only did one lap today I was not going near the dead squirrel again and risking either one of then touching it.
Ah it’s always an adventure at the dog park. Here’s hoping tomorrow’s trip will be uneventful.
I wrote about a fall I took at the dog park about a week and a half ago, thanks to someone else’s dog. Well besides the scraped elbow, you may recall that my SKORA running sneakers took a beating. The top layer of mesh got torn from the friction of sliding and scraping on the asphalt. And, well SKORA is an awesome company and gave me a discount coupon to replace my no longer perfect running sneakers.
I ordered a new pair and decided to go with a different pair. They arrived today, and well I love them as much as my first pair. My first pair is the Phase and well they are super comfortable, look, well looked awesome, and fit like they were made for my feet. Well, I can’t say enough about the Cores. Again they rock.
I mean check these bad bits out.
I mean you got admit they are pretty snazzy and the fit and feel is AMAZEBALLS! I really can’t say enough about this company or their shoes.
So, looks like tomorrow’s run I’m going to be sporting some new kicks.
Thanks SKORA you rock. And, if you like the barefoot/minimalist feel of sneakers you might want to check these guys out. Great shoes and great customer service, what more can you ask for in a company.
SKORA for the win when it comes to running shoes at least for this girl anyway.
I’ve been taking the dogs to the dog park nearly every day. I get in a run and so do they. We usually finish up the trip with some swimming in the river for them.
Today, we were out for our run and came across another walker and her dog. She was on her cell phone the entire time while her dog was running and playing with mine.
Well all of a sudden my dogs start running and this woman’s dog decides he’s going to chase after them. Normally not a big deal. However, the dog decided that going through me instead of around me was a better way to go. Well I’m sure it looked like a scene out of a cartoon. The dog plowed into me I flew up in the air and landed on top of the dog. The dog is freaking out, my dogs are freaking out, and the woman continues on her cell phone. Uhmmm, a little help please. I’d like to get off your dog before he bites me or something.
Luckily I wasn’t hurt, I ended up with a scraped elbow.
Not too bad could have been much worse. Although, I will say it burns like a mother.
However, the thing that upset me the most was the damage my poor sneakers endured. My SKORA running sneakers ended up shredded a bit.
And, as you can see they aren’t very used and now they’ve been torn through a layer 😦
Let’s just say I’m way more upset about my sneakers then my elbow.
Anyway, when I got home I called SKORA’s customer service, and explained what happened. The gi I talked to was very understanding and said that this was not a warranty issue but he would issue me a 20% off coupon for a future purchase. Well awesome because I can still wear the ones I have, and I already had been looking at a different SKORA shoe to buy. I love them. So, thank you SKORA for the discount and I’ll be buying my new sneakers sooner than later.
Oh best part after purchasing my new sneakers they sent me another coupon for 10% off my next order. So yeah SKORA rocks. Oh and the email they sent me with my 20% off coupon was personal and even talked about my spill in the dog park.
I love when a company is awesome to their customers. I’ll definitely be sticking with SKORA.
Today was Day 3 of Shaun T’s Focus T25. And, let me tell you I did not enjoy it one bit. The last 2 days I did pretty well I did some modified moves but I kept up with it. Today was Total Body Circuit, and after about 5 minutes I wanted to puke. My arms and shoulders are definitely feeling the workout today. But, hey it means my muscles were put to the test so it’s good for me. I’m not looking forward to the rest of the week either. Tomorrow is ab day, I have a feeling I’ll be feeling this 25 minute workout until the next time I have to do it. Friday isn’t much better, it’s double down Friday which means 2 workouts with the crazy man known as Shaun T. I’ll let you know how that goes for me, if I survive that is.
Yesterday, I posted about Lean Shake 25. Today, after my workout I grabbed one of the bottles of the banana flavor, and WOW! I’m in love! I will be buying a big bottle of that. It was good, no weird aftertaste or chalky feeling. It is definitely my favorite.
I earned a reward on EveryMove for money off a pair of Jaybird Bluetooth headphones, and they arrived today. They were a bit pricey even with the money off, but the reviews were pretty good, and I’m a spazzing when I run with headphones and always end up yanking them out of my ears because I somehow get tangled in the wires. With these it shouldn’t be an issue any longer. They are currently charging so I haven’t tested them out yet, but once I do I’ll let you know how they are. So far all of the products I’ve gotten with rewards from EveryMove have been awesome. The Pound Workout, I love, my OrangeMud Transition Towel has come in handy many a times, Sole Custom Inserts are magic, and my SKORA running shoes are a definite new favorite. So, I’m pretty optimistic that these headphones will be just as amazing as everything else.
I never used to be a fitness nut and fitness gear junkie, but I like the changes I’ve seen in myself. Keeping fit and healthy.
It’s that time, okay it’s actually way past that time. My first pair of running shoes that I actually only wore for running/run training, are in need of a rest. As in I probably shouldn’t wear them anymore because I’ve put many miles on them. Around 750 miles to be exact.
They were great little shoes I never experienced shin splints, foot or heel pain, and no blisters were had. That in my book makes for an excellent pair of shoes. I have a new pair sitting in a box waiting for me to break them out, but I’m still testing out a new brand to me SKORA. And, so far so good I love them too. They offer a bit more cushion then the Merrells which is nice and they have a removable insole which the Merrells do not have. Either way I may have found 2 new favorite running shoes. I definitely have one and SKORA looks to be coming in as a favorite as well.
So thank you Merrells for being my first pair of truly dedicated running shoes. You have been amazing but you can rest now. I still love you and may just wear you with some shorts and a tank as I walk the mall or whatever. But, you will no longer have to endure miles of hitting the pavement.
Ahhhh my Mean Green Sneakers
As you can see the tread is a little worn in some spots but they’ve held up really well for how many miles have been put on them.
Do you have a pair of shoes that you absolutely love?
A fees days ago I posted about my new running shoes I purchased. SKORA’s Phase sneakers. If you missed it, you can catch up on it here
I started breaking them in and well I have to say I love them. They have a great arch support, lots of flexibility, lightweight, and breathable.
If you’re looking for a new minimalist/barefoot type running shoe you might want to check out SKORA and see if they will work for you. I completely took a chance on them buying them without ever testing them out, and it payed off. I know for some though when it comes to your running shoes that’s not something you do. I however love shoes and “collect” them as my husband would say, so if I hated them for running I had a new pair of sneakers to wear every day.
Happy Monday and Cinco de Mayo.
This morning the FedEx man delivered my new running shoes. They would of been here last week, but with us heading out of town I had FedEx put them on a vacation hold.
Anyway, this morning they arrived. I haven’t tried them out yet, other than to make sure they fit. But, they felt pretty awesome.
I love the barefoot/minimalist sneakers I don’t think I’ll ever go back to regular sneakers again. I have some New Balance, Nike, and Merrells. I’m currently running in my Merrell’s and I love them. I actually didn’t even get shin splints when I first started run training which I ALWAYS get, so right there was love.
The new kicks are again the barefoot type made by SKORA. I’ve never tried their sneakers before, but when they are having a sale and thanks to EveryMove I had $30 off a pai of sneakers I figured why not. I ended up paying half price for them. And, well if I don’t like them for running I have a cute pair of sneakers to wear.
I’ll let you know how I like them after a few weeks of testing them out.
Here’s a pic of them:
Yeah they are cute do either way score for me.
